    Active voice signifies assertiveness in your business communication. It is more compelling and attention-grabbing than the passive voice which makes your messages longer and sound weaker. You should avoid using passive voice in business communication.

    5. Use parallel structure.

    You should assemble your written business communication by using the same form and tense all throughout your document. It makes your message easier to read and more understandable. The main idea is: if you use the past tense in your first paragraph, you should use it all the way down to the end of your document.
