Four Good Places to Get Free Content for Your Website

Fresh content is an essential aspect of a website’s success. This is what people and search engines are constantly in the lookout for in any website.

Writing consistently is not an easy task. Even proficient writers and experts run out of time, energy or motivation to do so. This is the reason why you need to use free content at times.

Aside from article directories which don’t allow you to claim the articles as your own, there are actually a few places to go to find free ideas for your content, a few of these are:

    1. Creative Commons

Creative Commons is a nonprofit group that allows the use and distribution of knowledge through free legal tools.

They have a free, easy-to-use copyright licenses that provide a simple, standardized way to give the public permission to share and use your creative work on your terms.

    2. Public domain information

Public domain information refers to all the works that were created in or before 1922, or the works whose authors had died more than 69 years ago.

Public domain information can be used by everybody without authorization or legal limitation. The most well-known source of public domain information is Gutenberg.org.

    3. Images can be used as content

Images make great content. This is because they can attract attention and enhance the general appearance of your web page. Images abound in the internet but unfortunately, not all of them are free because they are protected by copyright.

But there are lots of images you can use freely and without restrictions. They are available in sxc.hu.

As a word of caution, you have to minimize the use of images on your web pages because they are not as attractive to search engines as texts.

    4. Government websites

Government websites are a great source of free content which are not copyrighted. The content in government websites are actually intended to inform and benefit its people. You can use them freely on your website.

Posting free articles cannot replace the value of original content in which you poured your time and effort and focus. But you can use them once in a while so that you can take some quality time for yourself and the ones you care about.
