3 Strong Reasons Why Blogs Can’t Attract Traffic

If your blog isn’t getting the volume of traffic that you want it to generate, you need to know the reasons behind it. You should be able to address the cause or causes of your blog’s poor performance so that the time and effort that you invested on it will not go down the drain.

Here are three possible reasons why your blog can’t attract traffic the way you want it to:

    1. Irregular Updating

Regular updates help to keep readers coming back to your web log. People who find your content useful will surely remember your blog and they keep coming back for more. They even go to the extent of tracking your posting frequency so that they can anticipate any new postings from you. You need to update your blog on a regular basis to prevent them from going away. Remember, your readers are free to leave your site anytime especially if they can’t find anything new with it at the time of their visit.

    2. Irrelevant Posts.

Blogs are intended to attract people who share the same passion or interest on the same topic. This is the reason why you need to always post content that is relevant to your niche. If your posts deal about a subject matter that is not related to your topic in any way, your readers will no longer find your blog interesting. This will prompt them to find other sites that can give them the information they want.

    3. Failure to Promote.

Blogs are meant to attract readers and search engines. This is why you need to employ search engine optimization to maximize your blog’s capacity to be seen on the web.

But blogging takes more than search engine optimization to get traffic. Regular posting of relevant and useful content are two effective steps that attract targeted traffic, but you can generate more by promoting it to make people aware of its existence.

You don’t have to rely solely on search engines to make your blog visible. You can increase the exposure of your web log by visiting other blogs of the same niche and commenting on its posts and leaving a link to your site. Your comment will lead the blog owner and some of its readers to your own content.

You can also promote your blog in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. You can never underestimate the power of the social media to drive traffic to your site. They have a great potential to drive high-volume traffic to your site especially if your content is interesting.

Maintaining a blog is already a challenge, but attracting traffic and maintaining the interest and loyalty of your audience is more difficult. You should always see to it that your blogs are regularly updated with relevant, informative, optimized and good quality posts to enable it to serve its purpose of attracting traffic.
