We thought we had the healthier alternative to sugar – then we find out about the dangers of artificial sweeteners.In the people’s quest for healthier alternatives – there came about artificial sweeteners. Such are aspartame, saccharin, sucralose and the like. Various brands in the market carry any of these ingredients.
Such became sugar substitutes, and providing the sweetness in drinks and foods – without the undesirable effects of sugar in the body. Artificial sweeteners have been promoted strongly, especially by brands carrying such products – with the thought that they have with them a healthier substitute for those who are conscious about this.
But then the issues – and the new findings and reports all over – with regards to the potential dangers of artificial sweeteners. And now what? - New medical studies showing the dangers of artificial sweeteners. These are not as safe as we initially thought they were. What are we to do now? And what are we to believe?
The medical community has experts with differing opinions on the matter. Studies coming out – if not clearing things out, then perhaps confusing the general public even more. Conflict of expert opinions, results of studies and the like – all leaving the simple man at a bind as to what to believe and what to follow.
With all these, one can only go for the conservative – and be safe about it. Either way you go, go for moderation. If you have to use sugar or any of its alternative – go slow, use these moderately.
